I moved to Aiken 13 years ago from New York and I have never looked back. One the the reasons that I moved here is the cost of living, it is so affordable, the weather is awesome, we have no snow or ice and the equestrian population is huge.I have five horses and I do Eventing. Having evented in 9 States including Canada, I can honestly tell you there is nowhere in the world that you will find 4 recognized events in one town. Other venues here are Dressage, Polo we have 4 Hunts, Western pleasure riding Carriage driving, and 2 Hunter/ jumper facilities that offer A-rated shows. We have a 2 Thousand Acre preserve with manicured trails and cross-country jumps. We are 2 1/2 hours from beautiful beaches and 4 to 5 hours from ski resorts Aiken offers 3 beautiful gated communities if you're retired and want to enjoy awesome golf courses and competitive or recreational tennis.
